When I was just 14 I made the tough decision to leave everything comfortable to me in the Midwest behind, in search of a more enriched education and more competitive sailing.

Little did I know, moving out to Connecticut alone at the age 14 in sole pursuit of my dreams would quickly mature me into the young man I am today.

Academic Interests:

  • Ever since taking Honors Supreme Court and US Constitution with a practicing law partner, I have been fascinated with the law. I consistently enjoy reading current Appeals and Supreme Court opinions, from Writ of Certiorari’s to oral arguments.

  • Beginning in 7th grade my mom would drive me in the early morning to our local high school so I could take math classes before returning back to my junior high for the rest of the day. Since then, math has been my academic backbone. My favorite courses include Discrete Mathematics during my Senior year, and Linear Algebra and Multivariable Calculus my Freshman Fall at Stanford

  • I often get lost in great writing; I have always loved the classics as well as a few more modern novels. My favorites include Homer’s Odyssey, most of Shakespeare’s famous work, Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, as well as John Donne Poetry, Faulkner’s As I Lay Dying, Keyser’s One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Fitzgerald’s the Great Gatsby.

  • I first began listening to Stanford Professor Andrew Huberman’s Neuroscience podcast as something to keep my brain stimulated (no pun intended) while spending long hours on my road bike. Now, I can’t get enough of biological science that helps us improve our everyday lives.

  • While taking AP Physics my Sophomore year of high school, I realized just how applicable it was to the sport of sailing. I am fascinated by aero and hydrodynamics which explain the how and why behind how boats go fast.

  • When my friends and I chose to procrastinate our work in boarding school, our go to was always late philosophical talks. Ranging from Confucius to Nietzsche, we help but be fascinated just how much their principles applied to our everyday life.

  • After I picked up A Random Walk Down Wall Street my Sophomore Year of high school, I became fascinated by difficult questions like “how do we decide the monetary value of a human life?” This has lead me to two yearlong courses on the subject, and current interests in the foundation of the stock market and banks. I consistently have conversations, read books, and listen to podcasts on the matter.

  • After four years of rigorous classes in the Spanish Language, I became proficient, testing out of Stanford’s language requirement. However, I am still looking for opportunities to study abroad to immerse myself and achieve fluency.
